Why can't I start Aserver?

Often this is because "localhost" isn't configured in DNS. Try:

$ nslookup localhost

If that command fails, you will want to have an entry added to your
name server(s) or /etc/hosts file for "localhost.your.particular.domain"
pointing at 127.0.0.1.
